Land Grant Map of Modern Orange County

Here's a map of the original land grants of Orange County. This shows to whom each parcel was granted - mostly before and during the American Revolution, but some quite a bit later.

The lines of red circles indicate approximate locations of roads in the 18th Century. The abbreviation File refers to the Orange County Land Grant file number at the State Archives in Raleigh. ODB stads for Orange Deed Book.

A few modern landmarks (some churches and schools) are shown in [square brackets] in order to assist in interpreting the map. Enjoy!
